Bought some embellishments today

I went to Joann’s today looking for some raindrop-looking beads for the doll quilt April Showers. I had gathered lots of possibilities in the shopping cart, when I found a string of teardrop shaped beads in various shades of blue. It wasn’t going to get better than that.
I haven’t done any beading since I was a kid, but I suspected I might need a special needle to go through the bead holes. I asked a fellow shopper in the aisle if she did beading. She did. I showed her my beads and asked if I needed a special needle. She pulled a package of beading needles, saying a regular needle might work, but just in case… I agreed. I’d hate to have to go all the way back to the store. The package of needles was only $1.29, so not much money wasted if they don’t get used.
I got some beading thread in white to attach the beads. I also bought a white metallic thread to do some quilting; I’ve got a couple of ideas for that.
