Country Lanes
For retiring co-worker Diana G.
Inspired by a photo on her Facebook page.
Country Lanes quilt blocks. 56" square.
All fabrics from stash. Original design.
Completed 5/28/2014.

Last Thursday I delivered Country Lanes to retiring co-worker Diana G. The inspiration came from a photo of a country road and farm that I saw on Diana's Facebook page. My original  idea was to print the photo to fabric and build a quilt around it. However, printer problems caused me to ditch the idea. Plan B: I used Country Lanes blocks, which refer to the photo, with romantic fabrics from my stash that seemed to echo the mood of the photo.

The lavender print was in my stash for years.

Back

Close-up
There wasn't enough of the brown print (bottom left) to complete the back so I added another brown that was close in value.

Diana loves her quilt. Enjoy retirement, Diana!

Just discovered a quilt I finished in April but hadn't posted yet.

58" square. Original design.
Completed 4/9/2014.

Next, I'll pick up Darlene's quilt again. The top and back are done. It's just a matter of finishing up the quilt, which should take a couple of evenings.
