Make It Monday 2/4/2013

It's been a little bit since I've done any quilting, but I'm back at it. I'm starting a travel-themed quilt. I bought a panel of fabric that is actually New York City, but several of the squares look generic enough to pass for San Francisco, which is just a couple of hours from my home, and where I love to visit.

I adapted Lyn Brown's Modern City Blocks, resizing to fit the 20" theme square. I decided to use the same color family for each block, rather than go completely scrappy.

Roughly half of the fabrics I pulled from stash.
The other half was in another room and didn't make it into the photo.

Last night I pulled lots of fabrics from stash as possibilities for the quilt. I sorted them into color families tonight. For sashing I decided on gray to represent the city streets, and tomorrow night I plan to buy a couple of yards of gray, then start making blocks.

What are your quilting plans for the week? Please leave a comment. I'd love to hear about them.
