Spring Flowers Blocks Done

Spring Flowers Blocks - 8.5" x 15.5" unfinished
Look closely and you'll see slight variations in stems and petals, as planned.
Variations were accomplished by drawing detail lines free-hand style on the paper pieced pattern sections.

Here's another brief update on the Spring Flowers quilt. Last night I got all of the flower blocks sewn together and trimmed to size. Originally the blocks were supposed to be 8.5" x 16.5" (unfinished). But when I laid out the template, it was too tall. I cut off an inch from the template, so the flowers will finish a little shorter, at 8" x 15". That will take a couple of inches off of the finished length of the quilt, as well, but I'm not worried. It will still be plenty long at approximately 66", about 6" longer than I normally make for a woman of average height.

Tonight I'll cut sashing and cornerstones, piece the top, then add a couple of borders. I would love to get the quilt sandwich prepared for a pillowcase finish before bedtime. We'll see how it goes.
