WIP Wednesday 11/9/2011

I went on a personal quilting retreat by the ocean last week. While I was away I worked blocks for Cathy’s Southwest, my current quilt. Last night I finished the red/gold Diamond in a Square blocks and tonight I finished the purple/turquoise ones, a total of 32 blocks.

Also tonight I began working on Economy Patch blocks, a fancier version of Diamond in a Square. I should have those 16 blocks finished this weekend.

  15. Wow, that will keep you busy! What is the finished block size on them? They look small. Thanks for sharing.

  16. Thanks, everyone, for the many compliments. A Girl: the blocks, actually block units, are supposed to be 4" finished, but with my imperfect 1/4" seam they are probably going to be more like 3.75" finished. The completed quilt is supposed to be 61.5" square, but will probably be a few inches smaller than that.

  17. I've pretty much been taking a personal quilting retreat at home this past week or so. I've just kept sewing and sewing no matter what else was going on around me.
