WIP Wednesday 2/12/2014

I'm working on a dance-themed quilt.

I wondered if black would have been better than the teal. But I think the black would have been too harsh, so I'm glad I chose the teal.

There will be sashing in the dark teal between all of the blocks, and the border will be the same teal.

This quilt is coming together very quickly, as I predicted. I don't usually sew on Thursday evening, but we'll see how I feel then. I plan to work on the quilt on Friday, for sure, and should finish the top that evening.

  1. Oh, yes! Such fun to see magic in action! Magic both in and outside of the box, too!

  2. I love the box block! I think the teal was absolutely the right choice; the black looks a little too strong, and I think would take away from it. It's such an effective pattern! Thanks for sharing :^)

    1. Thanks, Nony. Yes, the black would have been too strong. The teal is dark enough to provide contrast but not harsh.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the Cha Cha Cha quilt in an internet search for "Cha Cha quilt block." The original quilt pattern was all pieced blocks, but I didn't want to cut up my theme fabric too much. So I changed up the pattern to alternating large squares of plain themed fabric, which really highlights the dancing.
