Pacific International Quilt Festival 2014

On Friday I went to Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara, CA with my quilter friend Judy P. As we have for about the last 10 years, we took the commuter ACE train. After about a 90-minute ride, we arrived at the Great America station, just a short walk from the convention center where the big quilt show is held.

Here are some of my favorite quilts:

Pretty simple design. Busy fabrics make it look more complicated than it is.

3-D glasses were provided for this quilt. What an amazing ViewMaster effect.

For my daughter Lisa, who rides a motorcycle

Doesn't look like much at first glance, but see below.

Pants!

Lustrous silk quilt

Also for my motorcycle-riding daughter

This quilt was huge. Amazing!

Levi's Stadium - new home of the San Francisco 49ers, about halfway along the walk between the train station and the convention center

Treasure from the quilt show

I had a great time with Judy. We saw hundreds of beautiful quilts and came home with a few quilty finds. What a fun day.
