Cars quilt top

Theme fabric and background fabrics for two quilts

Steelers theme fabric, background and stash fabrics

Last night I finished the Cars quilt top. I'm setting that project aside temporarily to begin working on the Steelers quilt. These quilts are for brothers, sons of friend Jennifer A. The first quilt top was made in a few days, and I expect the second to go quickly, as well.

  1. So cute! A great, simple design that allows the theme fabric to shine. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks, Karen. I made a quilt for the boys' mom, Jennifer, when she was a girl. It was all scrappy squares. The boys' quilts will have a similar look, with big squares of theme fabric to show them off, like you mentioned.

    1. Thanks, Jenn. You'll get to see both quilts in person at Sunday's Sacramento Modern Quilt Guild Meeting. I'll have to scramble to get them done! :)

  3. Chuckling at the motivation to have it finished for guild meeting; works wonders for me too! Nice cheery tops!

    1. Thanks, knitnkwilt. I came close to finishing both quilts. Didn't get the knots done on the second quilt. Delivered the first one to friend Jennifer A., who lives in the Sacramento area, which was my actual motivation. But yes, sometimes having something to show at guild helps. :)
