WIP Wednesday 1/9/2013

My next quilt is made partly from leftovers from Roxanne, a quilt I made about a year ago.

Roxanne
Completed 1/11/2012

Fabrics used for Roxanne

Roxanne block (Disappearing Nine Patch variation)

I wanted to play up the hearts/animal print in the new quilt, but had only a half yard left, not enough to use it in the same way as the original Roxanne. Last night I went to Jo-Ann's and picked up a few fabrics for Roxanne 2 (working title that may change), including the pink leopard seen below.

Fabrics for Roxanne 2
There should be enough of the original animal print if used in the smaller squares.
Pink leopard will fill the large squares very nicely.

Black print from stash will be a narrow border, and the bright pink will be a wide final  border.
The bright pink, bought last night, is the same fabric used in the original Roxanne.

This quilt will be a quick and easy one. I expect to have it finished by the end of the weekend.

    1. Thanks, Kerrie. I use Electric Quilt with almost every quilt I make. It's helpful to try out different colors, placement and sizes without actually cutting fabric. Once I have a design I especially like, the program will calculate how much fabric I need, which I can print and take with me to shop my stash and/or the fabric store. Love that!

    1. Thanks, desertskyquilts. I have several bags of leftovers from different quilts, with the intent of making what I call Echoes. I've made a couple of them already. See the tab Echoes Quilts near the top of my blog or go to the link below (you may have to copy and paste):

    1. Thanks, Heidi. They are different pinks but I think they'll be alright together. We'll see soon.
